Rosebank is a small village in South Lanarkshire in Scotland situated 1 mile east of Ashgill and 1 mile south-east of Dalserf, on the left bank of the River Clyde. Associated with horticulture this attractive village is surrounded with picturesque countryside, rolling hills and abundant with wildlife. Rosebank is a popular tourist destination and an ideal base for visiting the South Lanarkshire attractions with good road and regular bus and train links to Glasgow, Hamilton, Motherwell and Lanark. There is a selection of holiday accommodation, shops and amenities, pubs, cafes and places to eat out. There is fishing available on the Clyde and a selection of golf courses in the area. Attractions include the scenic Clyde Valley National Nature Reserve, the Lanark Museum with exhibits on the ancient history and heritage of the area and the New Lanark Heritage Centre; a 5-star visitor attraction with a water powered mill complex, a recreated Victorian classroom and interactive displays. Further attractions include The Dalziel Golf Park and Country Club, the Baron Haugh Nature Reserve and the North Calder Heritage Trail. M and D Scotland, a large Theme park and the Strathclyde Country Park are located in neighbouring Motherwell. Historically interesting features nearby include the ruined remains of the Strathaven Castle built in 1458 and the Morgan Glen railway viaduct which opened in 1905 standing 170ft high.
