Ardvasa is a charming village positioned on the Isle of Skye in the Highlands of Scotland. The small settlement has white washed houses and cottages, and crofts rising gently up the hillside. Set on the eastern side of the Sleat Peninsular where peace and tranquillity mingle with the fabulous scenery all around, from shaggy Highland Cattle, wild flowers that carpet the hillside, to the black volcanic Cuillin Hills, and impressive Knoydarts Mountains which dominate the skyline. This is no shopping metropolis, however there is a village store, post office and interesting craft shop to browse, a welcoming hotel with restaurant which was built in the 1800's, and a choice of B&B's and cottages to stay for those who wish to linger. The area was first settled many centuries ago and is deeply rooted in Scottish history with the marauding Vikings and brave clansmen who came here. Today's visitors can choose to arrive via the Skye Bridge or nearby Ferry Terminal at Armadale. The village is surrounded by woodland and dramatic countryside which would please any walker or artist indefinitely, with the far reaching sea views which unfold from the sandy beach and rocky shoreline where the sights of Dolphins, and seals are rarely forgotten.
