Hensol in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan (M4 Junction 34) provides great venues for conferences and team building events or for those seeking a luxurious base to explore this lovely area. If you have time to explore more widely, check out the scenery around Llanerch Vineyard – this involves narrow lanes and picturesque villages - look out particularly for Pendoylan (a past winner of Wales’ best kept village award.) You might lunch at the vineyard itself, enjoy a tasting session ,sign up for one of the cookery courses or go straight to Hensol Castle; a grade 1 listed C17th stately home used more recently as a hospital , then conference centre. Rumour says the castle is haunted. These days you might even spot a dalek - the interior was used in the filming of Dr Who to represent 10 Downing Street. Many visitors stay at the adjacent Vale of Glamorgan Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort, set amidst acres of beautiful parkland. The Resort has two championship golf courses plus Wales' largest health spa. Those that prefer a self catering option will like Hensol Forest Camping and Caravan Park set in unspoilt forest on the outskirts of the local medieval town of Cowbridge.
