At the foot of the Snowdonia National Park Llanfrothen lies in the County of Merioneth North of Portmadoc. Nestling between two valleys, the Croesor and Cnicht the village of Llanfrothen had its moment of fame in the mid 1990’s when it was announced that the local store, post office and petrol station (they are all one and the same place) were to close – the villagers, totalling about 350, decided to make matters into their own hands and with the aid of a bank bought the property, redeveloped it, and which still thrives today. Llanfrothen is on the doorstep of some of the most spectacular scenery in North Wales and is off the beaten track – so if it’s a quiet location that offers convenience then you will have found your idyll here in Llanfrothen
