Newport is a Medieval coastal town on the edge of the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire, Wales, home to just over a thousand people. The hands of time rewind with the Norman church of St Mary's, and the charming labyrinth of narrow streets uncovering a buffet of delights, whether it's Craft Shops, Art Galleries, or a rummage in the Antique Shops. An invitation to explore the Town Trail should be accepted as it unveils treasures of a different kind, Walkers can follow in the footsteps of Pilgrims on their way to St David's, the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path bestows soul pleasing views, or why not climb Carn Ingli, mountain of Angels. For the curious the ancient burial grounds of Carreg Coetan is sure to please, or a mile away is Nevern where the 6th Century Church of St Brynach will never be forgotten, Artist's are tested in the avenue of yew trees where the red sap of the Bleeding Yew links with myths and legends. Swimmers, enjoy Newport Bay where brightly coloured yachts are seen, and pleasure or fishing trips maybe one temptation too many. Smaller visitors will enjoy the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm and Adventure Playland with horse and wagon rides, and spectacular Shire Horses in Full Regalia.
