Pontargothi is a small Welsh village on the banks of the River Cothi in the beguiling Towy Valley, positioned betwixt Llandeilo and Carmarthan which has a fascinating Roman Amphitheatre. The area is renowned as the Garden Of Wales with delicious countryside and unforgettable views that bewitch Artists and Photographers unashamedly. The National Botanical Garden of Wales is close by where colourful plants and flowers jostle for attention. If that's not enough, experience the tapestry of rich planting at Aberglasney Gardens which dates back to the 15th Century. There is always the chance for woodland and lakeside walks at Llyn Llech OWain, or perhaps the impressive Norman architecture will tempt a visit to Carmarthan Castle where the hands of time are rewound in an instant. Possibly Dinefwr Park and Castle will grant any wish of seeing a Medieval Deer Park, or Newton House will unravel the mysteries of yesteryear, with rooms portraying life in 1912. On a smaller scale Aberdeunant is a farmhouse that shares an insight into agricultural life of times long past. Lovers of nature may enjoy Carmel Nature Reserve with ancient woodland and unusual lake, or perhaps take a glimpse at the nearby villages with wonderful names such as Llanfihangel - uwch - gwili and felingwmisaf.
