Cheetham is a suburb of Greater Manchester in the County of Lancashire, and is home to just over twelve thousand people. It's positioned just a mile or so from Manchester City Centre, and sits on the banks of the River Irk. There is a definite cosmopolitan feel as it has seen many immigrants arrive from countries far and wide over the years which adds to the interesting and diverse architecture lining the streets. The area was once the haunt of Highwayman Dick Turpin, and was also home to the wealthy merchants, bankers, and later the Mill workers who moved here during the Industrial Revolution. There is a vast array of restaurants to cater for most tastes, lively pubs, bars and a good choice of shops.
