Events in St Aubin | 10 Places to Stay
Opening out to the bay of the Gulf of St Malo, St Aubin is a port on the Island of Jersey.
Once just a fishing village situated at the opposite end of St Aubin's Bay from St Helier, it is now the thriving hub of the parish of St Brelade.
One of the local attractions is The Railway Walk, starting from St Aubin and following the route of the disused railway to La Corbiere. The Parish Hall was converted from the former Railway Station.
Other tourist attractions include St Aubin's Fort, which lies in the bay just outside the harbour. Uphill from the harbour is the church, St Aubin on the Hill. The church is a very fine example of Victorian Gothic architecture, having been rebuilt by the Victorians when the original church (built in 1747) was pronounced unsafe. The window in the north of the Lady Chapel is notable as being the only Pre-Raphaelite window in Jersey.
The harbour and its splendid views attract many tourists each year, which explains why there are so many fine hotels to choose from. Tourists are also well catered for with restaurants, many of which specialise in the locally caught seafood.
