Heswall is a pleasant town positioned on the Wirral in Merseyside, in North West England, which is home to just over seven thousand people. It's a town of two halves, the oldest part is the Lower Village which was the original settlement in centuries past, there are attractive mellow Sandstone buildings lining the roads, antique shops to browse, and a tempting tea shop to try. Nearby is the impressive church dedicated to St Peter, whose ancient tower graces the skyline. It was originally built in the 14th Century, but when lightning struck it was re-built in the 19th Century, inside will reveal many treasures that link with the past, and outside there is a sundial dating back to the 18th Century. The newer part of the town has a fantastic choice of shops, pubs, and various restaurants found on Telegraph Road, and Pensby Road. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with beautiful countryside all around, there's a chance to step out on the Heswall Dales which stretch for seventy two acres, The Beacons, Puddydale and the leafy footpath of the Wirral Way. Visitors who wish to stay for a while have a good choice on offer, and, as it's close to the Roman town of Chester, and Liverpool it's perfectly placed.
