Brandesburton is a pleasant village positioned in the East Riding in the county of Yorkshire, and is home to just over thirteen hundred people. This quiet, elongated village is rich in history which first saw early settlers arrive here during the Bronze Age, although interesting finds have been discovered nearby dating as far back as Prehistoric times. There is a pleasing mix of architecture with fine houses and cottages lining the roads, two pubs that are worthy of exploration, and an impressive Norman church that is dedicated to St Mary which has an imposing tower containing the bells which are frequently heard, inside there are early brasses on display. The Village green, although small is home to an octagonal Market Cross dating back to Medieval times when markets were held, it still stands on three steps and reaches 10' high. There are a good range of shops for that essential purchase, a couple of restaurants, and for those visitors who wish to stay awhile there's a choice of places to stay from hotels nearby, B&B's, and even a Camping and Caravan Park to enjoy. The village is popular with holiday makers due to a Jet Ski Centre being built, and the network of paths across the beautiful surrounding countryside.
