Born 1926 - Scottish comic actor.
He made his television debut in Shop Window (1951) and his film debut in Geordie (1956), but he was a firm favourite on the small screen with series such as On the Bright Side (1959), Baxter On…(1964) and The Stanley Baxter Show (1968-71). He also created the comic extravaganzas The Stanley Baxter Picture Show (1972), Stanley Baxter’s Christmas Box (1976) and Stanley Baxter on Television (1979).
