Born 1910 - Russia. Died 1977 - British designer.
Trained as an architect. Founder of one of the earliest design consultancies, Industrial Design Partnership (1935). Contributed to the Festival of Britain in 1951. Became a royal designer for industry in 1957. Professor of Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London (1959-75).
