Born 1951 - English singer, drummer and songwriter.

Appeared on stage in Oliver! (1964). Joined Genesis as drummer in 1970 becoming lead vocalist in 1985 when Peter Gabriel left the group. Had solo success with albums such as Face Value (1981), No Jacket Required (1985) and Both Sides (1993). Won Academy Award for soundtrack of the film Tarzan (1999). Appeared in films Buster (1987) and Frauds (1992).
