Born 1906 - Assam, India. Died 1988 - English artist and poet.

Studied at Slade School of Art, London. Part of the English Surrealist, exhibiting at 1936 International Surrealist Exhibition. Earlier work dealt with mythology and the bible. Turned to portraying dream-like states and in the 1940s painted incredible plants using various media. Moved to Cornwall in 1956. Later themes included the occult and alchemy.
