While studying Law and German at Bristol University he became interested in hypnosis and illusion. Worked as a conjurer and in 1996 started performing stage hypnosis shows. First broadcast of his Channel 4 television show Derren Brown: Mind Control was in 2000. Performed Russian roulette live on television in 2003.
