Made his debut in Atlantic City against Timmy Brown at age of 19. Won the WBO world middleweight title against Nigel Benn in 1990. Fought Michael Watston in 1991 which ended with Watson in a coma. Retired with a total of 45 wins (23 by knockout), 5 losses and 2 draws. Also won Super Middleweight titles. Has reputation of an eccentric as he speaks in an upper class voice with a lisp and dresses as a stereotypically upper class Englishman.
