Born 1947 - Conservative Party politician.
First elected as an MP in 1987 for the constituency of Maidstone. Became the Home Office Minister in Charge of Prisons after the 1992 elections. Known for her outspoken views on abortion and drug use. Converted to Roman Catholicsm in 1993.
