Anna Neagle
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Forest Gate, London
Born on 20th of October 1904
Died on 3rd of June 1986

Anna Neagle, who began life as Marjorie Robertson, seemed to be in every other film made here in the middle of the last century. Originally a dancer she found fame on the silver screen playing historical figures including Queen Victoria and Edith Cavell, then in musicals. When her screen star waned she made a necessary second fortune (her husband having mismanaged the first) in stage musicals, especially her long run in Charlie Girl. She was made a Dame in 1969.
