Anthony Powell
- Favourite Briton.

Born in Westminster, London
Born on 21st of December 1905
Died on 28th of March 2000

Powell was Eton and Balliol (though he only achieved a third class degree), a friend of Evelyn Waugh, Henry Green and Graham Greene, and brother-in-law of Lord Longford. That milieu became his canvas in the series of novels called A Dance to the Music of Time, begun after his war service ended (he had already published several satirical novels before the war). The series has something of Proust about it, bohemian and upper class characters weaving in and out of the sequence, an observant narrator detailing their lives and loves.
