Reade is one of the world’s leading BMX cyclists, with (at the time of writing) three world championship golds to her credit. She has also competed in track cycling with considerable success, with gold medals in the world championship team sprint in 2007 and 2008. In her teens Reade was a 100m sprinter and shot putter; when she began BMX she raced against men to stretch her abilities.
