Paul Collingwood
Born in Consett, County DurhamBorn on 26th of May 1976
Died in 000
Collingwood may best be remembered by posterity for his performances in the Ashes, where he was part of three successful series and became the first Englishman to score a double century in and against Australia since Wally Hammond. Generally described as a batting all-rounder his barely medium-pace bowling was also often very useful to England captains, especially in the one-day game (where he indeed was for a time captain), and he was known for spectacular catching. A successful Durham captain, he has also made a typically positive start to a coaching career with both England and Scotland.
