Won gold medal for Canada to 1988 Olympics. Returned to Great Britain in 1989, won British heavyweight title in 1991. Awarded WBC title by default in 1992 and retained title three times before defeat in 1994. Became undisputed world heavyweight champion in 1999. Awarded MBE in 1998.
