Born 1830. Died 1901 - English photographer.
In 1857 opened a studio in Leamington Spa selling portraits. Pioneer of pictorialist photography, earned the title "the King of photographic picture-making. Perfected the idea of combination printing. Famous for his picture Fading Away (1858), a composition of five negatives, which depicts a girl dying of consumption.
