Born 1933 - Florence, Italy - English architect.
Studied at Architectural Association, London. Founder member of Team 4. Important works include Pompidou Centre, Paris and Lloyds of London. Also designed European Court of Human Rights, Strasbourg. Knighted in 1991, made life peer in 1996.
