Daughter of Sir Michael Redgrave. Made London stage debut in A Touch of the Sun (1958). First film was Behind the Mask (1958). Received Academy nominations for Morgan, Isadora (1968), Mary, Queen of Scots (1971) and The Bostonians (1984). More recent films include Prick Up Your Ears, Howards End and Mission Impossible. Active supporter of left-wing and humanitarian causes.
