Born 1606. Died 1687 - English poet and politician.
Became MP for Ilchester in 1624. Served in Long Parliament, plot against Parliament on behalf of Charles I led to his exile to France (revoked in 1651). Collected poems published in 1645 followed by poems addressed to Cromwell and Charles II.
