Born 1861. Died 1947 - English mathematician and philosopher.
Educated at Sherborne and Trinity College, Cambridge. Post included Senior lecturer in mathematics, Professor of Applied Mathematics and Professor of Philosophy. Awarded the first James Scott Prize of The Royal Society of Edinburgh (1922).
