River Calder, West Yorkshire
The River Calder flows through the county of West Yorkshire, in the northern region of England. The River Calder is one of several rivers given that name in Britain. The West Yorkshire Calder rises on the eastern slopes of the Pennines and flows down through green countryside and former wool-mill villages before joining the River Aire near Castleford . The river is navigable in short sections made up of original river that are connected by several artificial cuts to form the Calder and Hebble Navigation. The river’s valley is known as Calderdale, a name that has been given to the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale.More British Natural features?
