Review of Brackley by Carole Quinn on January 9th, 2009
Found Brackley by chance when visiting a relative.
Lovely little town quite friendly. There was a farmers market which I think is once a month.
Found a lovely village pub just outside Brackley through Halse in the village of Marston St. Lawrence called the Marston Inn.
Had a lovely meal and sat by the log fire very cosy.
Can recommend a vist to Brackley on a nice day and dont forget the pub.!!

Review of Corby by Rebecca on October 17th, 2007
What I expect from any new restaurant on Rockingham Road in Corby with its smart address and highly competitive location is a something either very different or something really classic. On first sight, it didn’t feel particularly this was either one or the other. The restaurant’s interior is cool and sleek with stylish modern furniture and clever soft lighting. What gave it away as an Indian were the little pink carnations and the super friendly welcome from a very hospitable manager. We ordered the house wine, which was a hardys Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a steal at £8.95, a bottle especially compared to London and Birmingham restaurants that I frequent. We had to ask for the wine bucket but then happily settled into looking at the menu and that is when we realised it wasn’t trying to be anything but a good classic Indian restaurant. All the usual dishes were represented and so we set about trying some of the suggested recommended items like the Garlic Murg (Chicken) or Naga Moris Chicken (chicken marinated in bengali hot pepper, ginger and garlic paste and served on a sizzler. Mouthwateringly hot is what the menu describes it as). These were new to me, but we also ordered some favourites like Tarka Daal and Peshwari Naan. Waiting for the food, waiting for our order and waiting for our wine was surprising and that’s when I noticed that these guys do a killer take away business too. At least when the food arrived it was really fantastic and everything it should have been. Delicious flavours, strong spices and good portions gave us little to find fault with. Later chatting to the owner, Mohammed, we were pleased to find out that there are plans to deal with the success of both operations and size up the provision for both types of service. This for me is good news for the locals because now they have a great take away and a great local restaurant with very reasonable prices. The Royal Tandoori definitely has the makings of a perfect modern classic Indian restaurant.

Croughton, Northamptonshire
Review of Croughton by Mike and Kathy Berna on January 3rd, 2008
Lived in your beautiful village for 4 years (1967-1971) and will always remember it with great affection. Two of our three children were born while we lived in "The Red Cottage" on High St. All residents were very friendly to us Yanks, and we will never forget, especially Basil and Jean Coles who became our extended family. We try to remain as current as we can by reading the Croughton newsletter. I cannot believe how our tiny village has grown up in last 35-40 years. When we lived there it seemed as if everything had been unchanged for a hundred years. I remember well the "Blackbird" and "White Horse" watering holes and the family atmosphere in both of them. A far cry from the attitudes in our bars. Thanks for all the memories, Croughton Village.

Tiffield, Northamptonshire
Review of Tiffield by Kev Corcoran on January 1st, 2010
A quiet, peaceful village just off the A43 and four miles from junction 15a of the M1 motorway, Tiffield lies six miles from Northampton and four miles from Silverstone in beautiful rural South Northamptonshire. Also reached easily and directly via the A43 is junction ten of the M40.
The historic former Roman town of Towcester, with its supermarkets, restaurants and bars is just one and a half miles away.
The village has its church, its school and its pub, The George, a free house with its delightful low beamed bar, a truly outstanding array of fine ales and an excellent reputation for good home cooked food.
This small, quiet and friendly village also has its own privately owned vineyard, and a farm outlet for high quality meats direct to customer.
Visitors to Silverstone Circuit are welcome at Jill's Country B&B, where three double rooms are available, and Tiffield's Pocket Park, maintained by local volunteers, provides for very pleasant walks at any time of the year.
Whether visiting, stopping over, or just looking for a welcome break from a journey, you will always be sure of a warm welcome in this lovely village.

Tiffield is a small welcoming, friendly village just off the A43 between Towcester and Northampton. One village school, a church and just the one public house where all are ensured of a warm, helpful welcome. Lovely garden, plenty of parking and currently undergoing some refurbishment. Very social village, Christmas Dinner Dance, Children's Halloween party, Easter Hunt at the Pub, bi-monthly quizzes, gardening club, traditional pub games, a social league, Boules and Northamptonshire Skittles. 05/04/2007

Review of Titchmarsh by Keith Dart on October 1st, 2010
I and my pals on landing at RAF Bentwaters in 1944 asked where the nearest pub was and was told
Titchmarsh,we borrowed bikes and cycled into the
village and went to the pub but i can't remember
tha name.We were made very welcome and played your type of skittles with some land army girls. it was the best beer we had tasted for a long time. The next day we cycled in and was stopped
by a policeman and charged with riding without
lights and was fined 10 bob at Thrapston court,ht
we still went the next night but left our bikes a
little way out,great memories.

Review of West Haddon by JUNE WHITE on September 6th, 2013
A lovely village well worth a visit. Strong community spirit. Carnival on 7th September. Exhibitions in the church at various times. Another pub/hotel is the Pychley Hotel which specialises in steak dinners but also caters for small appetites. Family run with lovely staff.

Woodford, Northamptonshire
Review of Woodford by robert Watkins on July 13th, 2006
I lived in Woodford 1962-65 while in USAF, stationed at RAF Alconbury. Happy days. I live in Kentucky.
I have photographs (but no names) of locals I befriended while living there and would like to get in touch with someone in Woodford who might recognize a person in photos (will e-mail).
I plan to visit Woodford autumn '06 or '07. Would like to hear from anyone who lives there now.
Best regards, robert Watkins, Glendale, Ky.
