Edinburgh and the Lothians Reports

Dalkeith, Edinburgh and the Lothians

Review of Dalkeith by May Baird on May 15th, 2009
I live close to this hotel and I have used it for the odd drink and it's clean and bar staff are nice enough. But if you are thinking about booking into this hotel better get the ear plugs in, they deposit all their empty bottles in the bottle banks at the back of the hotel late at night, it was 1.30 am this morning. and it's always like a crashing thunder that wakes my whole household up

i visited the castle dirleton on Sunday 14th October where i was offered the carvery in the main function hall. I must say that this was excellent value for money, i visited with my wife and 4 friends and we will be returning. The food was excellent, the staff we very welcoming and pleasant and all in all it was a very enjoyable experience on which will be repeated.

Dunbar, Edinburgh and the Lothians

Review of Dunbar by S Kelly on October 18th, 2007
Dunbar is a real gem. It's definitely an up and coming town with an historic harbour, beaches, coastal walks, modern swimming pool, good play area for children, nice cafes, excellent golf courses. It has been a real eye-opener to visit Dunbar again as it has really improved in the last ten years. It has good road and rail links to Edinburgh - it is only 20 mins by train from Edinburgh City Centre but then you can leave the city and come back to great sea views out to Bass Rock. The new A1 dual carriageway makes car access to Edinburgh much easier too.

Musselburgh, Edinburgh and the Lothians

Review of Musselburgh by scott on May 22nd, 2010
We booked a stag night to go to mussellburgh race course and paid £18 per person for a ticket there was 15 of us from glasgow got the bus through and got stuck in a traffic jam all of us had 3 beers on the bus which dropped us off at the race course within 45 mins and another 2 beers later the stag was thrown out after 5 beers for being too drunk which meant the rest of us had to leave and they would not refund our money or even 20% of it. We all went into edinburgh and had a ball till 2 in the morning. I would not recommend mussellburgh race course for any stag weekend because it is a case of 'if your face fits no outsiders'. I go to the racing a lot and would recommend if anyone wants a good night out or a stag weekend go to Ayr racecourse much better hospitality and a more friendly atmosphere.

Penicuik, Edinburgh and the Lothians

Review of Penicuik by antonina koutoupa on August 7th, 2008
I know Penicuik well too, grew up there ,miss it. I left about 18yrs ago to come and live in Thessaloniki,Greece where I have married and have 3 children now.My parent sold their house in Penicuik and moved to Selkirk.Penicuik was really handy to go into town {Edinburgh} also you were out in the country with nice walks nearby, like the Clerks estate where my grandma worked and stayed. She now lives in Peebles another very beautiful scenic place.Generally I miss Scotland ,which Scot doesn,t.
