Good Points: Ambience of hotel was good. The restaurant was excellent both in terms of service & quality of the food & wine offered. Bad Points: Initial room that was offered was noisy - near to refrigerator compressor unit - second choice was less noisy but still not acceptable - final choice was fine. Staff were very helpful in resolving our initial complaint General review: Hotel was very pleasant and had a good character. Rooms are variable in size and facilities but the bed in the room we had was very comfortable. Food was excellent as was the selection of wines on offer.

Good Points: the hotel building, the friendly reception staff, the public rooms Bad Points: our room looked out over the hotel's airconditioners and lacked ambience. though there was nothing in particular wrong with the room, there was also nothing great about it either. I did not think it was good value for money. General review: I have been travelling in a number of countries and my comments may reflect the fact that, compared to many other countries, accommodation in the UK is relatively expensive for what you get. I would have liked to have known that the room had no view and not much space around the bed. I did like the hotel as a whole though. The breakfast was good, the staff pleasant and the restaurant looked good, though I did not eat there.

This Inn appears to have changed hands, the room I was allocated was hot and stuffy whilst also being clean and well equipped with little useful extras, the fruit was old and could do with changing, and no one had thought to turn on the fans, they appeared short of staff and I found myself waiting at the bar to be served whilst a young lady booked further guests in, The restaurant used to be excellent, now it is a shadow of its former self and in my opinion pretentious and over priced, our starter of walnut and pear salad was the worst that I have ever encountered, whilst conversely my rissotto was excellent, the service throughout was poor. Breakfast was little better, the waitress who was foreign, completely forgot my order and had to be reminded. Not a good experience, but I will return and opt for a bar meal which seems to be good value
