the kingsbridge extravaganza is very good we travel from plymouth every year and take a lot of friends to watch the parade it is the best thing ever have been told it is no longer going to be an event why have they stopped this as they have many people into the town for the night which bring lots of money into the town

A trip to Cromer would not be complete without a visit to my favourite shop. Over the last five years I have bought some really lovely jigsaws and I think the children's section of books and jigsaws is very good too.

The Spa offers several exclusive treatments not available elsewhere in Scotland, including the Vichy Aromatherapy Salt Glow, which incorporates a thermal water jet shower to massage and soothe the body and it was this I experienced. My young, friendly therapist Tammy took me upstairs to the room especially designed for this treatment, which requires a bed set within a low tub, a “rain bar” shower as well as a normal massage bed for the final moisturising massage. My body was carefully cleansed and exfoliated with a blend of aromatic and mineral salts which Tammy rubbed briskly up and down my legs, arms, back and shoulders. This was then gently showered off with warm water as I just lay there, totally relaxed. All the while gentle music was playing in the background. The scent of lavender, rough salt rub and aromatherapy oils was a wonderful concoction and already I could feel my skin feeling fresh, smooth and polished. Then the rain bar of 6 water jets was drawn over to shower me, simulating the experience of tropical rain. The temperature and pressure of the water was regulated every few minutes to massage and tone the skin. After a thorough drying with a fluffy white towel it was time for the closure of the treatment: a relaxing, all-over moisturising massage. I would thoroughly recommend this Salt Glow treatment, appropriate to the Old Course Spa being as it is right beside the sea. Have a brisk walk along the beach, breathe in the salt-sea air and then come in for this special treatment! It certainly makes your body tingle with improved circulation, the skin scrubbed and smooth, shiny and healthy. And... men too! As men are realising more and more that they should also look after their skin, my partner opted for a specially formulated facial for men followed by a back massage in the Clarins treatment room. His therapist was a charming and vivacious French lady called Essya who made him completely at ease - he had always been rather tentative about the intimacy of a body massage - but he had no worries and absolutely loved the whole pampering procedure. The back massage used strong pressure, kneading into the muscles and tense knots around the shoulder. This was followed by a lengthy cleansing and moisturising facial with particular defined finger work to tone the skin. He is now a convert and cannot wait until the next opportunity! Altogether, the Spa is fabulous
