the hotel was well worth the stay the staff were friendly and helpful. the rooms were tidy and the in room facilities were fantastic. the showers do seem alittle cramped but for average size persons it is big enouth. the breakfast was super and there was more than enouth choices and quantity to eat. even though the hotel was near a roundabout it was peaceful and secluded behind trees. i would recommend this hotel to all age groups that are looking for a quite weekend away.

We went to the Bailbrook Lodge for our anniversary. It sells itself as a 4 star luxurious hotel run by a family. Although it looks quaint from the outside (in spite of it being located just by one of the biggest roundabouts in the UK!) it was unmodernised and dirty inside. The bathrooms were more like cupboards with a tiny shower - I couldn't even raise my arms over my head to wash my hair. There were cobwebs in the corner of the shower. The bathroom was so small that the sink was in the bedroom. There was nothing luxurious about this at all. We had one stale biscuit, a scummy kettle and a grotty clock radio - it only costs £2 for a new one! Breakfast in the morning was a joke - it was too busy, people were queueing to get a seat. The portions were also tiny. When "checking out" we finally met a senior member of staff, the manager. When we put forward our complaints of a dirty, dusty room she was totally intolerant of us. She refused to listen to us and contradicted us - didn't even offer an apology. Over the whole bank holiday weekend the only time the manager came on site (that we could see) was to collect our money.
