First impression was ok & was very happy to have received a F.O.C. upgrade to a top floor seaview room due to it being a present for my wifes 40th Birthday. Nice quiet location overlooking a superb beach. Bus stops right outside the hotel which goes right around the Island either clockwise or Anti-clockwise, so yes 1st Impressions were ok.......but......the room wasnt cleaned well, the swimming pool area was a disgrace (broken windows, dirty pool, side car park like a scrap yard, rubbish everywhere etc...etc...). During various times of the day the reception area was unmanned & we could only find staff you couldn't speak English.
Reception staff were english (when you could find them) but didn't have a clue. My mother phoned 5 times over something quite important & asked the reception staff to pass on the fact that I needed to contact home asap.....I never got the message!!
As we used the shower we asked for a change of towels which were taken away by the cleaner, but despite 3 attempts never got any back. In the end asked the receptionist who then took ages to find us 1 towel between us to be getting on with...never did receive the others!!!
The final straw for me was I returned home.
I paid for my 3 night BB stay up front in about Feb 2006 online, we had 1 meal for my wifes birthday (as we used to eat out) which was a set menu and again paid on the night & even left a tip as it was pretty good. So imagine my horror a few weeks after returning home I got charged, which was taken from my card details which should have been destroyed, for 3 x set meals for 2 at a cost of over £80.
I did get the money refunded back onto debit card....eventually, but, someone must have had the meals & managed to charge them to my room, very suspicious!!!
The sad part about our trip was that it was supposed to be a break for my disabled wifes 40th birthday who nearly died earlier in 2006 & has been through a hell of a lot since diagnosed with her illness. All we wanted was a brief breakaway from our problems but as you can see that clearly wasn't the case either during or after our break.
I hope that something is done about this hotel as it does actually have potential if managed correctly but from what I can gather the hotel has a very high staff turnover.

This hotel is truly awful! I made the mistake of being taken in by the description of the hotel, no doubt penned by the proprietor himself. We had booked to stay 3 nights, but left after just one. The small bedroom stank of cigarettes and was extremely unpleasant, the (public) bar was intimidating and not the place you sit and have a relaxing drink. The staff spoke little or no English, so could not understand that we did not wish to share the breakfast table with another couple!
We found a much better ( albeit more expensive) hotel and moved out. The moral is - you get what you pay for.
