What a beautiful place to visit. The house was exceptional in it's architecture and the exhibits were most interesting, take the time to read up on the free leaflets relating to items of interest within each room to get a real flavour for the history of the Hoare family. The gardens were studded with amazing, unique and intriguing artifacts and classical structures. Look our for the "Ice House!" We visited on a very hot day and it was marvalously cool in there. The gardens are bursting with beautiful flowers and shrubs of every description....a photographers dream. We spent the whole day visiting and enjoying the chance of peace and tranquility in an otherwise fast paced world. Take my advice, if you love nature & creation, you can't lose with Stourhead house & gardens.
