We stayed there for the New Year's eve event. The hotel was absolutley full and this definately stretched the staff, nothing majorly bad happened but we had to ask for things more often than we have had to in the past. The food was excelent especially the beef on NYE though some people fond the soup a bit spicy and also the cheese had obviously been out of any cooler for a while on the 2nd evening. All in any small problems were solved instantly and we will go back again.

Beautifully decorated and very grand, this hotel looks like the perfect place to stay when visiting Scotland. Easy access to both Glasgow city centre, the airport and the motorway are also ideal. However, unfortunately this hotel fails to deliver all that it promises at first look. My evening meal was very average and surprisingly tasteless. The rooms although very sumptuous in decor, had a thermostatic valve the wrong way round in my first room, hence my after dinner return to a sauna, having thought that I had turned the heating off prior to dinner. This sparked a late evening move to an 'upgraded' room (included a sofa rather than just a table and chair), where the radiator valve simply didn't work at all and kept turning round and round. At this point I was too tired to complain and endure another move, but when I mentioned the problem at check out I hardly even received an apology. When you consider that the far less upmarket Travel Inn chain offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, you really start to wonder where these guys get off. Shame really as it spoils what is otherwise a visually stunning place to stay.
