Whilst the accomodation was spacious for the 7 of us plus a baby, we were really disappointed with the amenities on site. There was no cooked food available until 5 pm, and the stated 'bar meals' came from the one and only take away (and we had to walk to the take away to order the food - to be had at the bar!!). The shop didn't open until after 8am (no good if you wanted to stock up with supplies before going on a long day trip), and ran out of milk (at only 4 pm), and wasn't particularly well stocked with supplies. The swimming pool literature stated that the heated swimming pool could be used by under 16's unaccompanied if they were competent swimmers, but the notice on the door stated ALL under 14's had to be accompanied by an over 18 year old. The pool was not bad but only opened at 10am, closed for lunch and was closed again by 6.45 - again no good if you're out for the day and want to swim beforehand or after. You were not allowed to play ball games or dive etc so all there was was swimming - and the pool wasn't big enough to be able to do that freely. The reception didn't open until 9am and closed at 6pm - not good again for trying to sort something out if you wanted to go out on day trips and often one had to wait to see someone as they often were covering the bar as well. The literature also stated tennis courts when in fact there was only one. There were no sign posts outside to direct you to any of the amenities and the outside play areas could only be accessed by walking down a slippery grass slope if you had a pram. Also the literature stated that Tallan Bay could be accessed by a footpath and that Polperro was just a walk away. What it didn't tell you was that access to both was extremely steep and exhausting to come back up. All in all i was expecting a family friendly site with good lively day time amenities but unfortunately, considering the amount of money they charged, we were all extremely disappointed. The one good thing i could recommend were the maintenace guys who were extremely quick and helpful in changing the fuse and getting us a bigger cot (as the one first supplied was far too small for a 1 year old). An unfortunately, disgruntled holiday maker.
