I was looking for a caravan park in Dorset/Devon to take my elderly parents and grandaughter to. I needed somewhere that I knew would offer a good service I did not want the traditional Hi de Hi type holiday. I visited the review pages to seek guidance and once reading about Freshwater, I booked. I have to say that we had a most wonderful week. The caravan and park were spotless, just enough entertainment and excellent service by the staff. The location was ideal for touring and the site itself was clean, spacious and extremely well kept. Well done Freshwater, we will be back.

I first experienced this part of Dorset, as a nine year old boy, in 1955, when we had a caravan at nearby 'Old Coastguard'. Even then, us brothers envied those at Freshwater, being directly onto the beach.
My wife and I were to enjoy so many stays at Freshwater during the 80s and 90s. Our last being in 2002. She recently passed away, but I shall return to this my 'second home', many more times.
The site is wonderfully located; always friendly and helpful staff; very good facilities for families...and such a marvellous, unspoiled environment, so rare, these days. More childeren, particularly, should be given the opportunity to experience such holidays. Those wanting a quieter time can always book early or late season, as we did when those kiddies got older.
Charming West Bay is a brisk walk across the cliffs. There's lovely, historic Bridport, with its extensive market and Lyme Regis and Weymouth, are each within easy driving distance.
All this and some of the best sunsets, over beautiful Lyme Bay.
Thanks, Freshwater, for being such a wonderful part of my life.
