The Glassworks is unfortunately the only truly central gym in town. Venture a little bit out from the centre and there are a fair number of alternatives. As a result, the gym itself is very small and quite expensive for what you get. They have basic machines available as well as some weights, but nothing fancy and these are not upgraded frequently (or at all during my 2 years there). The condition of the equipment is also average.
These drawbacks are not a big deal if all you want is a basic workout and dont mind paying a bit more for the location. However, the management of the gym are absolutely dishonest in their dealings. During my time with them they charged myself and a few friends (independently) multiple times for services we did not use, or for renewals which we had specifically said we did not want. Approaching them only resulted in a lot of delay tactics and false promises and eventually they stopped responding at all. We gave up trying to get our money back but we would recommend everyone to stay well away!
