Excellent location. right on the sea front.,"We couldn't decide when or where to go. We changed our minds more than once and we eventually decided on Whitstable in Kent. We chose The Marine, which is actually in Tankerton, partly because the bathroom of the room we chose, which also boasted a Balcony and sea view had a whirlpool bath. Our greeting was friendly, check in was enlivened by the new computer system – they seemed to master it very quickly, however. We came to the bar with non-smoking areas, for a drink before supper, it seems to be very much a pub first, then a restaurant with rooms. And WHAT a restaurant. Informal, friendly service, excellent food, leaning heavily on seafood, what do you expect in a place with a working fishing port just a few hundred yards away. Lots of great places to visit all within easy reach by bus or train, the frequency of which is excellent. Sad to leave, lovely staff, will miss 'our' alcove in the restaurant."
