This Flower Show was a revelation. I was amazed by what was charged at the door, the number of tents and the sheer size of the event.
I loved the tents full of prize flowers and vegetables partly because I hadn't seen such a display for 40 years. It reminded me of my youth in the late 1950s early 1960s when my beloved grandmother took us to Gomshall and Shere's then thriving shows and we entered jam jars of grasses and wild flowers and won a 'commended' sticker.
May the Claygate Fair continue to be popular, what an event just outside London. Brilliant.
