We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this cracking Inn/Hotel. It was quite, quaint and with a beautiful view from our room. Looking round the place it has a lot of character and if only walls could talk.
Our room was clean and comfy and adequate for our stay.
The owners and their staff were friendly and very helpful.
The breakfasts were very good and filling and the evening meals were even better.
Would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting this area of the Lakes.

My husband told me he had booked an overnight stay at the Farmers Arms, after reading some reviews[bad], i was unsure but went along in any case.So pleased i did, only one problem, it was for only the one night...will definately return for a longer visit, rooms, food, atmosphere very good. And the welcome from,Jane and Malc, and their hospitality and friendliness was superb. Anyone considering visiting.. please dont be put off by these nasty negative reviews.. just go and enjoy ...

Four poster room as advertised - more like a well worn double bed with a limp, sad drape attached. Cold coffee, cold breakfast, very dark depressing breakfast room and bedroom. Waitress and bar man very pleasant and helpful, female proprietor - rude, surly, unwelcoming, unhelpful. Awful bathroom, smelled musty & damp.
ONLY STAY IF DESPERATE...as we were. Completed feedback questionnaire and received a torrent of verbal abusive emails from female proprietor which concluded with 'thanks for your money'!!!! Absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed in our lives!

This is a lovely family run establishment with a very friendly atmosphere.
The accommodation is clean, comfortable with a great deal of character as you would expect from such a lovely old building.
"Mine Host", Jane and Malcolm (and Toby the Lab) are very welcoming and the breakfast is second to none - all local produce - absolutely delicious.
Based in the perfect location for touring the Lake District, this Inn promises a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
One note of caution - do not challenge the Landlord to a game of darts - he is lethal!
