A truly one off place. If you want a completely sanitised tick box experience don't go there. It's not for pretentious people as one review suggested. I go to Alderley Edge for the charity shops and came upon this place by chance and I certainly make sure I go back when I can. You can't control this man, it's his domain and he can be really funny, kind and eccentric. Food is good. My little gem.
I get locked out myself sometimes if it's an event, open your eyes and go in with a sense of adventure.

Myself and my partner visited this place for a bite to eat and a coffee. I asked if they sold iced coffee and the owner ignored me, he through a reserved sign on a table and told me to leave and go to somewhere else
The owner is rude and he does not deserve a shop. From what I could see the customers in there were very prentecious one of which drove a brand new Bentley who think he is the best thing since slice bread

Authentic Italian, home made minestrone soup with pesto crostini and classical music. Yes, transported to Italy. Good cappuccino, we were asked if we wanted one to remember, I won't spoil the surprise but I will remember it.
Don't ask for a menu, go with the flow and see what the humorous chef/owner comes up with. Prices will not shock you.
Great atmosphere, worth a visit, will be going again.

Had lunch at Prontofresco to-day what a wonderful experience of a truly authentic italian restaurant/cafe. Had planned to go and eat in Manchester as we live close to a Metro station but in view of weather changed our minds - so glad weather was bad and we found such a nice friendly place with superb food, we will definitely be returning

Just reading the reviews here and felt i had to write a little note. Firstly complaining that there is too much oil in a tuna sandwich?? seems a little extreme for me, but hey, each to their own i guess. Secondly, we visited ProntoFresco yesterday and thought it was fab. The atmosphere is great, the owner can not do enough for you and will make you anything you ask for, all fresh. He is a character. Singing and dancing whilst he is cooking, he was great, very polite too. The food was also fantastic, we had a panini and coffees (the coffee is also fantastic) and vanilla slices, which he arranged with fresh strawberries! We will be returning again to sample his pizzas and pasta! Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

My husband and I love this cafe. The food is excellent - all homemade, authentic Italian cuisine made by the talented chef and owner Victor.
Whether you're looking for a quick coffee and cake or something more substantial (pasta disshes, pizzas, fish-cakes all fabulous) then look no further than this absolute gem in Alderley Edge village.
The owner is friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere thoroughly convivial.
Well worth a try!

I suggest you slow down......relax and smell the coffee!!!!PRONTOFRESCO restaurant is truly an oasis in the wilderness of mediocre restaurants. This all starts with the owner/chef "Vittorio" likely to bring a smile to your face with his Italian flare and wit.
Don't be mistaken this is not just a coffee-shop, from the minute you walk in you feel like you have been transported to Capri,Venice,or the narrow cobbled streets of Rome. You are surrounded by the aroma of vine- ripened tomatoes, garlic and freshly toasted pizzas and panini.
This is just a taste...you would be well advised to try the fresh raviolli, cannelloni or spaghetti, all prepared daily on the premises.....this man never sleeps!!
If you cant decide let Vittorio choose for you, he may surprise you with a steaming bowl of fresh mussels in white wine and garlic or a delicious risotto with chicken or seafood.
And finally if you are not counting the calories treat yourself to a desert of divine cannoli, fresh fruit drizzled with frangelico or why not try a selection of the Neapolitan ice-creams, my favourite being the pannacotta flavour. ENJOY........

After todays visit to this cafe this has to be the most bad mannered owner that we have ever encountered.When we complained that the tuna sandwich had too much oil on it the owners decision was to come out to our table.Nothing was said but he took away our cutlery and the coffess that had been served.He then told us to go and find some other cafe to have our lunch.The people at the table located next to our could also not believe what he had said and were equally as shocked.
We shall ceratinly not be returning to this so called 'cafe' and would certainly make it known to others not to also frequent this establishment.
