after 3/4 hour wait for ploughmans lunch we were served the most dreadful excuse for this lunch,on complaining about it we were offered free coffee and pudding, which we did not want,on complaining to the "assistant manager" who was quite rude,it became clear they didnt really care about what we had to say, surely somebody should be made aware of this situation...the owners/the brewery!!I paid up and left, but never ever again.

Once great pub driven to serve poor food with equally bad service with bad management

My partner and i recently visited the windmill for lunch. It was a lovely day so we decided to eat outside. On ordering the food my partner was told we have to go inside and wait for our food because they were busy and not serving outside. Yet when i was sat outside people were being served and when we eventually got our food another couple had just been served OUTSIDE. When we complained the staff weren't apologetic but very rude and i think the rudist one was the pub manager. I like going to the windmill because the food is very good but find the service inconsistent and until they change management, we will no longer be going to the windmill inn.

I had the day off and no-one to share it with, so thought I would treat myself to lunch. I went to the Windmill Inn on Holehouse Lane, Adlington with my reading book and sat by an open fire having a really tasty lunch. The service was quick and the people really friendly. I'd recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I have spent a number of very pleasant evenings here during the last few months. We have at last found a place that provides that rare combination of excellent food combined with great friendly service - with very inexpensive prices too !! I highly recommend this Inn, it's just a mile or so down Holehouse Lane, just off the main Poynton-Macclesfield Road, near the junction where the main London railway line crosses over Bonis Hall Lane.
