My husband and I stayed at the Bucks Head for the night after a long walk from Buriton and was really made welcome. The food was excellent-good home cooked food and the new owners (Martin and Maggie) as well as their staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely old fashioned English pub and worth a visit. We will definately be back.

My daughter and I had booked to stay the night here after walking the first 14 miles of the South Downs Way. We arrived at 5pm but the place was deserted. Exhausted from the day, all we wanted was to get into our rooms, have a hot bath and rest our weary legs. Unfortunately they did not open till 6pm and, despite taking our booking, did not anticipate our arrival. It's a shame as the rooms were fine and we had a very enjoyable evening with good food and a nice breakfast the next day.
If you're planning to stop here, make sure they know you're coming and have someone there to let you in. Luckily the weather was fine - I'd have hated to have arrived and waited for an hour if it was raining!

Wow, what a wonderful place. I cant recommend the Bucks Head highly enough. The surroundings were stunning, the accommodation was well priced and comfortable, the food excellent, and the staff warm and friendly.
If you are looking for an ideal weekend away in the Hampshire country side or the perfect stop off point while doing the South Downs Way, then this is it.
