Despite the snow and the difficulty getting there down icy lanes, the White Hart is still our favourite place! We sat by a huge log fire, ate delicious slow roasted pork belly with garden produce and drank a bottle of rioja...bliss! Great staff looked after us too!

What a great find...after arranging to meet friends from Abingdon I found the White Hart on your website and totally agree with the review left in May last year. The building itself was quite magnificent and the dinner with our friends was equally as impressive - we all agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever had. Staff were helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The owner recommended a fantastic glass of Gewurtztraminer to go with my salt and pepper squid - I had never tried it before, so she gave me a taster (closely followed by 2 large glasses!). A rare treat! I too would recommend it to all.

Stunning! After reading a review on the White Hart in the Oxford Mail, we felt we must give it a try (having not been there for many years) and I am so glad that we did. I cannot remember the last time I had such good food, wine and service in such beautiful surroundings. The rump of lamb and duck breast were cooked to prefection and I was not surprised to learn that most of their produce is from local farms and suppliers - the quality and freshness was evident. During my visit I met the new owners (a young husband and wife team) and was delighted by their passion and enthusiasm for their work! They have clearly done a fantastic job even in the small amount of time they have been there, as the place was even busy when we went on a Wednesday lunchtime. I would recommend the White Hart wholeheartedly - even if one didn't want to eat, it would be worth going just to sample the real ales and interesting wines and take a look at the magnificent building - I believe it was first built as a chapel in the fifteenth century.
