We visited the Middle House because of the half price vouchers in the Telegraph. The food is 1st Class, the people are lovely and most of all the place is just stunning. A mix of VERY old with VERY modern food.
We cannot recommend the Middle House enough. Also the staff (mostly family) play down how good the place is.

There is a certain rare atmosphere in the Middle House - rare beacuse many inns these days have lost that calm conviviality, that inexplicable charm that should make up the heart of village life. The Middle House scores highly in all areas - excellent food, pleasant relaxing accomdation steeped in history and plenty to drink! Although our stay was for just one night, I can honestly say I'd return. We have stayed in many hotels and pubs throughout the UK and the food at the Middle House ranks as high as any. Well done! 5 Stars for food!!
