**A Manager's Right to Reply**
Isn't it funny, that for the thousands of happy customers we look after as
hoteliers in a year, the ones that we all remember are those who are out for
a free lunch - and usually achieve.
If we get things wrong, then we do, as any other professional would, and
that's to make every effort to put things right.
As this is my home as well as my work, then I have to mix work with pleasure
and taking a drink and a cigarette outside is not interfering with anyone
else's pleasure.
I would close by saying that on the evening that this couple stayed with us,
we were full. I received compliments from almost all our guests.
After breakfast the following morning, one guest complained to me about the
guests who were moaning to one and other in the dining room. He concluded
by asking why we put up with such people. That same guest returned for a
week's stay a week later and left on Sunday having very much enjoyed their
stay. Incidentally, they stayed in the same room as is referred to!
Kind regards
Andrew Roberts-Evans

I wish I'd read the above messages before booking in here for a romantic break. The location is gorgeous but from there it's all downhill. The room (at £98.00!!!!!!!!!!!!) was dirty, shabby, characterless and worth about 20% of a Travelodge room. The food was dire, frozen stuff reheated then burnt with an 'iceberg' garnish. Clearly cooked by a mechanic and not a chef. The breakfast was worse, greasy and disgusting plus half the bulbs had blown just to add to the ambiance. Eventually the manager (when he could be bothered to put out his fag and put down his pint for a minute) halved our room price and gave us the supper free but it still didn't make up for this huge disappointment. The sooner it is taken over by someone who CARES, the better. Until then avoid at all costs.

Presently undergoing a lot of external refurbishment, the welcome inside was as warm as I've always experienced. The food as usual was excellent and the Welsh real ale in top form.
Well done again guys and see you all again soon

Brake Brothers best - served up as home cooking
Sorry guys - we are well travelled and no matter how friendly the lads running the pub are, it can't cover for portion controlled mass produced freezer fodder. As for the room rate - don't even think of it.
A location to die for - a business that could do so much better for both itself and for the reputation of British tourism

We have waited a long time to visit the George,I have to say the food was poor, It was busy so we expected to have to wait,,,,, the standard of food presentation, value for money.... ie.... frozen peas, no fresh veg, little salad garnish.....was below standard. At £15.00 per head ( 5 in our group ) you would get far better value for money at a toby.
You should not charge £15.00 for cafe standard presentation & food.
Give it a Miss!!!!!!!!
