Been to Westholm several times in the past. Telephoned yesterday to make a touring booking. Answerphone message to leave number and would get back. Didn't so telephoned today to be told site no longer takes tourers or tents in spite of all advertising and website to the contrary. What sloppy administration - good job we had not already set out.

Pleasant campsite, good childrens play area, but if you have children DO NOT stay in their static caravans. Please be warned they do not like children. This should have been a pleasant holiday for my small children (8 and 5) but they were repeatedly told they could not play outside the van whilst we were cooking and tidying. They were told their (foam) ball was dangerous and they could not play throwing it to one-another. They were told off for playing hide and seek and when they resorted to bowling fallen crabapples along the ground with sticks since they weren't allowed their ball ... they were told off for that too!! Since I will not let them out of my sight to go off and play, this spoiled the break for us. They had to sit inside the van bored every time there was cooking cleaning or packing etc to do. This was not a cheap holiday (£200 for just 4 days in a caravan!) and it was a misery. Also there are NO disabled facilities at all - nothing, no way to shower ... I had thought that was illegal in this day and age.
