Very nice country pub, the staff are friendly and the food is plentiful. Not quite sure why everything on the menu seems to cost £12.95, for their main meals. Salads, shoulder of lamb etc. strange!! So I would probably rate them 8/10 for not charging the appropriate price in my view for a salad. Worth a visit!

What a change since my last visit! The Plough has been extensively and sympathetically altered, it is now over twice the size of it's former incarnation and looks superb. Found their website at plough-at-cadsden.co.uk which gives a good account of the present look of the place. My wife and I had a salad as it was a hot day and were very pleased with both the quality and presentation, you would not of thought a salad would offer much room for flair, but this was not the case. Staff were friendly and efficient and the young ladies that served us were pretty and delightful. I wil definately return... if the wife lets me!

Had to post, just to counteract the grumpy muddy boot man. My wife and i had dinner, bed and breakfast on Saturday night and had a wonderful time. The landlord and his staff were all very welcoming and could not do enough. My wife has even come away with a new favourite drink, the Milton Keynes!!!! Don't ask! A really nice break away from domestic heaven at home, and we only live a couple of miles away. We will be returning soon!

This is a rude, fussy and unwelcoming place if you look like the "wrong kind of customer" or just want a pint having come off the hills. Never in my life have I been spoken to like this merely for a little bit of mud on the fake stone tile floor. Should've walked out, a tenner I'd wished I'd spent elsewhere. Saw other customers trated the same way when their only crime was to walk in off the muddy badly maintained car park and walk on the floor lol. Place takes it self far too seriously, and no doubt was once a typlical, lovely English country pub. Now it wants your money.

As always, First class service, great food and intimate. Sometimes the barman is a little under pressure but still a good Scot !. The Maitre de and his wife are great.. I have been visiting the Plough at Casden since 1969. Highly recommended for quality and value.Give you two an intimate treat it is quite lovely. Dave O'Connor
